The Harmonumerics Origin Myth

Originally, I wasn’t going to create an “Origin Myth” because those things seem to generally run counter to our scientific-based explanation of how the Universe, galaxy, solar system, and planets were created. But I relented, partly because I was curious, and partly because Harmonumerics didn’t seem complete without it.

My original prompt to ChatGPT was: “Create an origin myth that connects humans to the planet and the universe.” What ChatGPT spit out was nice, but a little too fruh-fruh for Harmonumerics, in part because it included a deity and I didn’t want one here. So, I asked it to “make it a little more scientific.”

Here’s what it came back with, and I think it fits really well:

In the early moments of the universe, when space and time were emerging, and particles were forming from the primordial energies, the laws of mathematics and physics took shape. These laws, which governed the behavior of everything in the cosmos, also held within them the promise of harmony and interconnectedness.

Over billions of years, stars formed and died, giving birth to new elements and seeding the universe with the building blocks of life. Eventually, a small rocky planet coalesced from the remnants of an ancient supernova. This planet, which would come to be known as Earth, harbored the potential for life.

The wisdom of this interconnectedness and the beauty of mathematics inspired the formation of Harmonumerics. This belief system teaches that by embracing the principles of harmony, interconnectedness, and mathematical elegance, humans can work in concert with the natural world and the universe, fostering a greater sense of balance and unity for all life.
